2011 Klothes 4 Kids Report
Our mission is to provide new back-to-school clothing for elementary school-age children (Kindergarten-Fifth Grade) from low-income families in the city of Danville and the Pittsylvania County area. My thanks to all the individuals and churches that supported our ministry with their gifts and prayers. This year, we were able to serve a total of 124 children and also distributed New Testaments to each family participating. God blessed each family through your generosity and their were many expressions of gratitude from participants.
This year, we received a total of $4,124.00 in contributions and spent a total of $4,892.58 for clothing and supplies for our 12 th annual Klothes 4 Kids Sale that was held on Friday, July 22, 2011.
I appreciate the continued support of our Pittsylvania Baptist Association, each member church and the members of our WMU organizations, along with our PBA WMU Leadership Team. Your service through this ministry shows the love of Christ in a practical way. Thank you for responding to His call to give to children in need through Klothes 4 Kids.
We were blessed this past year to receive our “official” Klothes 4 Kids logo, courtesy of Jamie R. Watson (from Chestnut Level Baptist Church). Jamie received a $50.00 Wal-Mart gift certificate. My thanks to everyone who submitted an entry.
Klothes 4 Kids had a special opportunity to minister to others through the Operation InAsMuch project held by our Association on October 8, 2011. Clothes from our inventory were given to support the ministry efforts of the clothes closet at Moffett Memorial Baptist Church for this special day. MMBC usually distributes used clothing. They were especially grateful to receive new children’s clothing.
Thank you for the privilege of serving you this past year. The Klothes 4 Kids ministry is a very worthwhile project that I hope will continue for many years to come. I hope you will continue to “lend a helping hand” as we render our service in the name of Christ and bring Him glory by our efforts.
God bless!
~Sheila Hodnett, Klothes 4 Kids Coordinator
