2009 Report   August 31, 2009 On behalf of Pittsylvania Baptist Association Woman's Missionary Union, I extend to you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! We are grateful for your generous gift for our Klothes 4 Kids ministry this year! We were able to help 136 children from low-income families whose children attend our city and county elementary schools to receive new back-to-school clothes (2 shirts, 2 pair of jeans or pants, a package of socks and underwear for each child). Each family also received a New Testament and Christian literature. This year, we received a total of $4,827.00 in gifts for K4K, along with a few gifts of new clothes from one of our churches; we spent $4,987.69 in purchases for the K4K sale. God truly blessed these families through your gift! We appreciate your support and prayers for our Klothes 4 Kids ministry that shows the love of Christ in a practical way. With God’s help and contributions from individuals and the member churches in the Pittsylvania Baptist Association, we will be able to continue our Klothes 4 Kids ministry in 2010. Please remember to share with your church family about our ministry and how it helps children in need and how much we appreciate their gifts to Klothes 4 Kids. In the past, Pittsylvania Baptists have collected polo shirts for us to give to one of the Danville middle schools for their clothes closet that helps children who cannot afford to purchase the proper shirts as recommended by the school’s dress code. We have been able to assist in this need and we want to continue to help. You can bring polo shirts to the Association office at any time during the year. The shirts should be a solid color (or with stripes) with a collar. They can be new shirts or “gently” used (they must not have any logos printed on them). The school is currently in need of shirts for boys (men’s size large). Thank you to those who have already given to the polo shirt ministry.
