HOW TO HAVE A TRAINING EVENT IN MY CHURCH.
1. Decide what the need is and determine which of the training events will best fit that need.
2. Determine who from the church would attend.
3. Contact the Association Office and find an available date to hold the event.
4. Schedule with the trainer and finalize the actual dates involved.
5. Things to do before the event takes place:

CONSULTANT LEAD SEMINARS
The search process is the most important time in the life of a church. The consultation leads the Pastor Search Committee through a process that will help them to navigate through the process of finding a pastor or staff. It takes approximately two hours initially to do the preliminary introduction and training. The consulation can remain in process but at different levels untill the church finds a pastors and may include resume collection and aid in reading and interpreting resumes. The level beyond the initial training will depend upon how much help the individual church needs or desires.

NCD is national program developed to provide an objective analysis of a churches ability to contain the blessings of God in their own environment. It measures eight specific areas of church life and allows the church to analysis where they are in relationship to other churches. The process entails a survey taken from church memebers and the interpreting of the results. The process utilizes a NCD team that will present to the church the findings and recommendations for achieving the desired results. The survey takes about forty-five minutes and includes thirty people from the church plus the pastor. The NCD team will spend several hours over a period of weeks in the analysis and understanding and then present the findings to the church.

Cost for processing the NCD survey is $75.00
This material is an analysis of the natural process of moving from birth to death in the life of a church. The material analyses four aspects in the life of a church and how they effect the growth or lack of growth in different life stages. The training will help a church to discover what life stage they are in and how to move to another growth level. It offers precise recommendations for different life stages.

Strategice planning is an approach that looks at every aspect of church life and to the future. The process will utilize a Team elected or appointed by the church to develope values, mission statement, and a vision statement. The Team will also develop goals and objectives that will help to propel the church into the future for the next 3 to 5 years. It is not a long-range planning process that looks at ten or more years, although some issues may arise that will take longer to accomplish, but rather a stream lined approach to the near future. The process utilizes material entitled "MAP: Moving Ahead with Purpose," and the NCD survey.

INTENTIONAL INTERIM INTRODUCTION
The II presentation will help a church to identify what the Intentional Interim process entails and to help them become better informed as they anticipate choosing the Intentional Interim as a tool.

Conflict management is a process for churches that are struggling to the point where termination is eminent and the work of the church has been stiffled by persistant conflict within the members. This is not a short term bandaid program but rather a concerted effort of discovery and maping out a future together. It consists of working with a Conflict Management Team and interviewing every member of the church. The time frame can take anywhere from a month to more depending on the number of members and facilitating the meetings. A report, with suggestions, is developed and delivered to the church body in business sessions at the completion of the process.

7 STRANDS OF CHURCH HEALTH: WHERE IS THE ENEMY?
This is a proactive, preventative, non-threatening approach to training people to become effective church health ministers. It is not conflict management because it seeks to create a less-anxious atmosphere within a church to foster healthy growth. It is a systemic approch to church life. The program of study is an interactive approach that takes 7 - 8 two hour sessions. It is best used within smaller leadership groups like deacons, church leaders, or Sunday School team but anyone can become more effective through its use. Several time frames have been effective from a Friday night all day Saturday approach to consecutive Sundays. Any format will be productive as long as the intervals between the sessions are not protracted too long.

Cost for the manual is $15.00 but is not necessary to attend the classes.
This entails a consultant visiting with the staff and Sunday School leadership to do a walk through of the facilities. It seeks to identify areas of strengths and weaknessess so to build on the positive aspects of the church. The main focus is the Sunday School and does not work with anything else within the church life. The Weekend event contains a time of celebration, a time of visitation by the members, and an attempt to enlarge the enrollment of the Sunday School. The consultant will develop a written report and recommendations for improving the work of the Sunday School.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING
LEVELS OF CONFLICT AND HOW TO WORK WITH THEM
This study seeks to understand the different levels of conflict and their unique aspect to each other. This is better done as an educational process rather than a conflict management process. The material will help individuals and churches to understand how conflict works and give some tools to help disfuse the more harmful aspects of harsh conflict.
PERSONAL EVANGELISM TRAINING: "EARN"
This is an approach to personal witnessing aimed at presenting a simple approach to leading someone to Christ with a twenty to thirty minute time frame. It is based on the principle that you must "earn" the right to be heard.
This is a training program to gain tools in develping deamwork in the orginazition.
This is a training program aimed at providing skills in the continual development of the Christian lifestyle. It is good for beginning as well as seasoned Christians.
Much is said today about casting a vision. This training effort is given to provide a framework for a church to begin the process of discovering their own dream or vision for the church.
DEACON TRAINING
HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF DEACON MINISTRY
This seminar is a study of the development of deacon ministries beginning in the early centries but focusing on Southern Baptist History. It seeks to give a historical background for understanding how we got to where we are now in the deacon ministry.
This is a study of a model of ministry for deacons that is characterized as the "Servant".
This study is an approach at looking at ministry as an art form that can be developed and learned.
This is a program aimed at developing skills in the ability to make a visit. The goal is to be able to contact someone visit in their home and be able to ask the ministry question which is, "How Can I help you?"
This is a trianing event to help people become less threatened by making a visit to the hospital. It covers the "do's & don'ts" of visiting a hospital.
This is a brief training event aimed at making people aware of the grieving process so as to become a better minister.
