The fall meeting was very uplifting and productive. We had approximatly 110 messengers and guests to attend.

Highlight of the Business Session

include the approval of the 2008 Budget, approval of the new Office Administrator, Claire Perry, and approval of the new slate of officers.

Reports were given from:

Cliff Hudgins-Association Ministries Coordinator for Hope Builders. They are in need of Site Coordinators. Also, two trailers have been donated and one purchased.

Rev. Randall Clarke, Chaplain at Hargrave,gave a report on his work with the Cadets highlighting the Spiritual Emphasis Week in which 91 individual decisions were made with 24 of those being first-time professions of faith.

Rev. David Abernathy, Chaplain with Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, expressed appreciation for the support from the Association churches which supply over 60% of the support for the local ministry.

Rev. Jeff Wright, member of the Board of Directors at Hope Harbor, reported that a new Director has been hired. Mrs. Conchita McIntire demonstrates a true vision for this ministry. Money has also become available to help implement that vision.

Mrs. Whitney Clarke, Averett Christian Student Union Minister, reported on the Bible Studies currently being held and an upcoming trip to Eagle Eyrie to help develop leadership skills.

Mrs. Judy Merricks, WMU Director, reported on the Operation Christmas Child project and asked for volunteers to pack and load the boxes to contact JoAnn Bell.

Rev. Cliff Hudgins introduced new ministers: Dr. Danny Davis [Mt. Hermon], Rev. Ryan Riley [Shermont], Rev. Mark Hackler [Sharon], Whitney Clarke [Children's Minister at Mt. Hermon], and Mrs. Becky Holt [Minister of Music at Moffett].

Highlights of the Worship Service

The uplifting music was presented by the Chatham Choir and Gentle Spirit. The annual sermon was delivered by Rev. Stephen Cook.
